1) Write a definition of a passive audience: 

passive audience means accepting media without questioning 

2) Write a definition of an active audience: 

active audience is when you read,comment or engage with media.

3) Write a definition of the hypodermic needle theory: 

hypodermic needle theory is suggesting that media messages are injected directly into the brains of a passive audience.

4) Write down a media product for each category of Blumler and Katz's Uses and Gratifications theory and WHY it fits that particular audience use/gratification.

 film and television, it changed by live consumption of tv-not popular . an adv is less waiting time for adds. an disadvantage is expensive and it has content that is inappropriate that is easy to access.    

5) Re-watch the clip from Blue Planet above and write a paragraph analysing how elements of the clip offer the audience pleasures or gratifications (use media terminology from Uses and Gratifications theory and the 3 Vs - notes outlined above)

The narrator educates audience a topic that they may or may not be familiar with. an example of this is "a dolphins spits to its prey"The gratifications theory is information and surveillance. this narrator is also talking about the sea and the animals in the sea. he also talks about how clean the water is deep in the ocean. the colours in the film are blue and different colours but blue is main one. he also talks about how plastic ruins the ocean and how it kills a lot of animals living there because they think it is food but when they eat it they die.
